Paul, Weiss Welcomes Christopher M. Wilson as New Litigation Partner

Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP announced today the addition of Christopher M. Wilson as a partner in its Litigation Department, based in Washington. Wilson, a former trial lawyer at the U.S. Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division, brings experience in antitrust matters including merger control, cross-border antitrust investigations and private litigation involving complex antitrust and consumer protection issues.

Brad S. Karp, Chairman of Paul, Weiss, expressed his enthusiasm for Wilson’s arrival, stating, “I’m delighted to welcome Chris, a dynamic and talented antitrust advisor, to the partnership. Chris will further deepen our leading global antitrust and merger clearance capabilities, at a time when our clients are navigating an increasingly complex antitrust landscape.”

Andrew C. Finch, global co-chair of the Antitrust Practice, highlighted Wilson’s accomplishments at the DOJ, noting, “Chris’s time at the Antitrust Division has been distinguished by a remarkable track record of achievements. He will be a fantastic addition to the firm and his expertise will further solidify our presence in Washington.”

Wilson has managed major merger reviews for clients such as Pioneer Natural Resources in its acquisition by ExxonMobil, Platinum Equity in its acquisition of Solenis, and GE Healthcare in its acquisition of BK Medical. He has also handled cross-border investigations involving multiple jurisdictions, including the European Union, the United Kingdom and Canada, covering industries such as health insurance, transportation, technology and biotechnology.

Scott A. Sher, global co-chair of the Antitrust Practice, emphasized Wilson’s practical experience, saying, “Chris is a commercial, thoughtful advisor who has managed numerous major merger reviews, both within the DOJ and in private practice. His addition will benefit our clients across a range of industries, and we are thrilled that he is joining us.”

Before entering private practice, Wilson served as a trial attorney in the DOJ’s Antitrust Division, where he was involved in high-profile cases like CVS/Aetna and Bayer/Monsanto, earning the Division’s Award of Distinction twice. He is an active member of the ABA Antitrust Section’s Transportation & Energy Industries Committee and a published author in various antitrust publications.

Wilson holds a B.A. from New York University and a J.D. from Columbia University, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone scholar and served as an editor on the Columbia Business Law Review.
