The Real-Time Payments World Map
Peru and Pakistan Expect Massive Real-Time Payments Growth by 2027
Pakistan and Peru may have only had millions of real-time payments in 2022, but they are expected to reach or exceed 1 billion by 2027. This month, the “Real-Time Payments World Map,” a collaboration with The Clearing House, PYMNTS explores the projected growth of real-time payments in the Netherlands, Nigeria, Norway, Pakistan and Peru.
Inside the June World Map
- Peru’s large unbanked population has hampered they country’s real-time payment scheme.
- Two of Norway’s largest real-time payment apps are set to merge, which would provide citizens with a pan-Scandinavian payment option.
- Nigeria’s real-time payments scheme has caught on like wildfire, comprising more than 60% of the country’s total spend last year.
